Most trucks and some SUV's are exempt from the luxury automobile limits on depreciation. These vehicles are considered "trucks" an have a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) in excess of 6,000 pounds. GVW is the weight of the vehicle (Curb Weight) plus the maximum rated weight of passengers and cargo. Passenger cars do note have a GVW rating.
